What is Siberian Goose Down?
Siberian goose down is very comfortable material that is especially hand-plucked from geese. It is an urban legend that the geese used in Siberian goose down are really from Siberia. (Siberia is not actually a resource of goose down) However, the term is used in marketing an especially warm and soft material made from goose down, considered superior because of harvesting, sorting and sanitizing methods. Goose down is manufactured all over the world, from Europe to China to the United States and Canada. Goose down is usually only used for the interior of a comforter or pillow and so you may find that the exterior is made from cotton. If you want the full “goose down” feel make sure that the product reads “100% down, and no fillers.”
