What does a “1000 thread count sheet” mean, when you see in listed on a bedding product? 1000 thread count sheet refers to a high quality of sheet, almost a status symbol. The more threads that are used in the making of a comforter the higher the quality usually is. (Although this is not necessarily a given) The 1000 threads are counted according to warp (length) and weft (width). Standard cotton has a thread count of about 150, and even 200 count is considered of a higher quality than the norm. You can certainly feel the difference of a 1000 thread sheet. Even so, don’t forget to balance your decision with consideration as to the type of cotton, the feel of the fabric and the quality of the finishing.
